Computer Systems Project Consulting & Installation

Computer systems project consulting and installation

Planning, configuration, installation, and rollout support for new systems and upgrades — scoped properly before anything is bought, and installed without a week of disruption.

A floor plan showing planned workstation positions, network runs and a server closet, beside a partly installed equipment rack and boxed hardware waiting to be fitted.

Projects this covers

Anything bigger than a repair and smaller than an IT department. The common thread is that it needs planning before purchase, and a rollout that does not leave people unable to work halfway through.

  • Workstation refreshes and office computer installation
  • Server replacement, consolidation, and migration
  • Network builds — cabling, switches, access points, and Wi-Fi coverage
  • Office moves and new-premises technology fit-out
  • Backup and disaster recovery design
  • Shared storage, file structure, and permissions design
  • Operating system and software version upgrades across a business
  • Growth planning — what today's systems will and will not carry

Scoping before spending

A project starts with what you actually do, not with a product list. What is slow, what is failing, what is coming — more staff, a new location, software that needs more than the current hardware. The specification comes out of that, with the reasoning written in plain language so you can weigh it yourself rather than take it on trust.

You get the running cost as well as the purchase cost, and where a cheaper option is good enough you will be told so.

Installation and rollout

Configuration is done before anything replaces a working system. Data migration is tested, users are moved in a sensible order, and old systems stay available until the new ones are proven. Where downtime is unavoidable it is scheduled, agreed, and kept short.

After the project

You are handed documentation of what was installed and how it is configured — not left dependent on whoever built it. From there, remote server management or ongoing small business IT support keeps the new systems maintained, or you can simply call when something needs attention.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you supply the hardware or do we buy it?

Either. Some businesses prefer to purchase directly against a written specification, others want it handled end to end. The specification is the same document in both cases, so you can price it independently if you want to.

How much disruption should we expect?

Less than most people fear. The configuration work happens before anything is swapped, and cutover is scheduled around your quiet periods — often outside working hours — with the old system kept available until the new one is proven.

Can you review a plan we already have?

Yes. A second opinion on a quote or a proposed design is a common request, especially where the specification looks larger than the actual requirement or a critical piece such as backup has been left out.

What size projects do you take on?

From a handful of replacement workstations up to a full office fit-out with servers, network, and storage. If a project genuinely needs a larger contractor, you will be told that rather than sold something that does not fit.
